Art Blocks × OpenSea Artist Residency: First Artist

The Art Blocks × OpenSea Artist Residency has officially launched to support generative artists. This collaboration between two major NFT players—renowned generative art platform Art Blocks and the world’s largest NFT marketplace OpenSea—marks a key milestone in the evolution of art within the Web 3.0 space.

The first artist to inaugurate this residency is Jiwa, a programmer and generative artist with over 15 years of experience. He is a senior software architect, expert in smart contracts and Web3 development, and currently oversees technology at ntent.art. Beyond his technical expertise, Jiwa is also a dedicated activist who uses his art to spread positivity and raise awareness of environmental and socio-political issues.

Starting in April, Jiwa will spend 4 weeks at the Art Blocks residency behind their gallery in Marfa, Texas—living and creating in the town’s unique artistic atmosphere. At the end of the residency, he will exhibit his new generative art project to the local Marfa community.
