มหกรรมศิลปะนานาชาติเวนิส เบียนนาเล่ (Venice Biennale) ครั้งที่ 61 ประกาศรายชื่อ 111 ศิลปินที่จะเข้าร่วมนิทรรกาศศิลปะที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกเรียบร้อยแล้ว ภายใต้แนวคิด “In Minor Keys” ที่ริเริ่มไว้โดย Koyo Kouoh ภัณฑารักษ์หลักของงาน ซึ่งจากไปอย่างกะทันหันในเดือนพฤษภาคม 2025 ที่ผ่านมา
ศิลปิน เวนิส เบียนนาเล่ ครั้งที่ 61
รายชื่อที่ประกาศออกมาในครั้งนี้จะเห็นว่ามีศิลปินจากสหรัฐอเมริกามากกว่าประเทศอื่นอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นกลุ่ม arms ache avid aeon หรือ Laurie Anderson และ Tammy Nguyen และ อีกมากมาย
ถึงแม้ว่าปีนี้จะไม่มีศิลปินไทยอยู่ในรายชื่อ (เมื่อครั้งที่แล้วในปี 2024 มีหนึ่งคน คือ ธัญสก พันสิทธิวรกุล” ศิลปินสายภาพยนตร์ เจ้าของรางวัลศิลปาธรปี 2550) แต่มีชื่อของ สว่างวงศ์ ยองห้วย ศิลปินชาวไทใหญ่จากรัฐฉาน ประเทศพม่า ที่มาสร้างสรรค์และจัดแสดงงานประเทศไทยอยู่หลายครั้ง
นอกจากนี้ยังมีชื่อของ Marcel Duchamp บิดาแห่งศิลปะ Dadaism อีกด้วย
เวนิส เบียนนาเล่ แนวคิดหลัก “In Minor Keys”
สำหรับแนวคิด “In Minor Keys” ตั้งอยู่บนฐานของการมองหา “ความสัมพันธ์ที่ก้องกังวาน” ระหว่างศิลปินจากทั่วโลก ซึ่งไม่ใช่แค่การจับเอาผลงานมารวมกัน แต่เป็นการจินตนาการว่าพลังงานสร้างสรรค์ของพวกเขา “บรรจบกัน” ได้อย่างไร แม้จะไม่เคยรู้จักกันโดยตรงก็ตาม
Koyo Kouoh ภัณฑารักษ์หลักของงานเชื้อสายแคเมอรูน-สวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ซึ่งจากไปอย่างกะทันหันในเดือนพฤษภาคม 2025 ก่อนที่งานจะเปิด ทีมงานของเธอยังคงสานต่อโครงการโดยยึดมั่นในจิตวิญญาณที่เธอวางไว้ รวมถึงการเปิดรับสิ่งที่ไม่คาดคิด ภายในกรอบคิดที่กว้างไกลและเปี่ยมด้วยความหมาย
นิทรรศการในครั้งนี้ถูกออกแบบโดยไม่มีการแบ่งเป็นส่วนๆ แบบดั้งเดิม แต่ไหลไปตาม “กระแสใต้น้ำ” ของแนวคิดหลายชุด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแนวคิดเรื่อง “สถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์” (Shrines), โอเอซิสแห่งการพักพิงทั้งกายและใจ, ความมหัศจรรย์ที่ยังคงดำรงอยู่ท่ามกลางความเย้ยหยัน ไปจนถึงการสร้างสถาบันที่ผลักดันพลังงานสู่จุดมุ่งหมายทางสังคมในแบบที่ Kouoh เรียกว่า “โรงเรียน”
ภัณฑารักษ์ผู้ล่วงลับได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากศิลปะหลายแขนงในการออกแบบแนวคิดนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ โดยเฉพาะวรรณกรรมสองชิ้น ได้แก่
Beloved ของ Toni Morrison และ One Hundred Years of Solitude ของ Gabriel García Márquez (กาเบรียล การ์เซีย มาร์เกซ) สองบทประพันธ์ที่เชื่อมโลกจริงกับโลกของความทรงจำ ขอบเขตชีวิต และเวลาที่ข้ามผ่านกันได้อย่างน่าสนใจ
